Job Description

Summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, has an ongoing need for Family Practice Physicians (Locum Tenens) to support the Indian Health Service across multiple locations in Oklahoma. Our Family Practice Physicians deliver quality care to attain positive health outcomes for all our valued patients with emphasis on cultural sensitivity and human dignity. These are 1099 roles with both full time and part time opportunities. Chenega covers medical malpractice insurance.

 

Locations include: Claremore, Clinton, El Reno, Lawton Pawnee, and Wewoka.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include: 

  • Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.   
  • Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors. 
  • Document services in the electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete administrative paperwork including electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review. 
  • Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as needed basis.  
  • Provide physician service and staff urgent care clinic, as needed.   

Qualifications

  • Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.  
  • Board Certified in or Board Eligible in Family Practice and/or Internal Medicine.  
  • Successful completion of a residency program in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Training Program.  
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications. 
  • Active DEA license. 
  • Ability to pass credentialling and background check process; federal standards apply (average processing time is 60 days). 
  • Experience working with AI/AN population preferred.
  • EHR/EMR is RPMS, prior experience preferred.
